God/Love bears all things regardless of what comes. 8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail whether there be tongues, they shall cease whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.Īll of these attributes of love represents what God is like. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (KJV) Charity suffereth long, and is kind charity envieth not charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. The attributes of love are patiently enduring, is kind, doesn’t envy, doesn’t boast in itself, doesn’t make proud, doesn’t behave unbecomingly, doesn’t seek their own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil, Doesn’t rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth, bears all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. The attributes of love express what God is like. When we read about love we see and understand that this is a part of the nature of God. We are able to look at scripture and understand that love reveals who God is. Now that we understand the Bible says God is love. Let’s take a more in-depth look at this type of love according to the Bible. This Bible explanation is the true definition of love according to God! It’s such an amazing truth that every believer should know and believe. Romans 5:5 (KJV) And hope maketh not ashamed because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. John 1:14 (KJV) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. John 1:1-2 (KJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 
God is love and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16 (KJV) And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us.
1 John 4:8 (KJV) He that loveth not knoweth not God for God is love. Born again believers have the love of God in their hearts now by the Holy Spirit as a gift from God. Therefore God’s Word is love and Jesus is love. The Word is God and Jesus is the Word made flesh. So what exactly is God’s definition of love in the Bible? That being said the world’s definition of love is not the same as God’s definition of love. Love is one of the most widely used words in the world and yet so many people think it means different things.
